BASICS OF VOLKSSPORTING

 THE BASICS:
1. One basic principle of Volkssporting is that sanctioned events take place regardless of the weather. However, severe weather conditions may cause cancellation or postponement of these events. All these changes must be reported to the CVF office for appropriate action while time is of the essence
.
2. All individual  participants must sign the registration form at the Start Point.Print your name clearly and then your regular signature. My interpretation of this ruling is that,Couples regardless of marital status cannot sign each other in for the walk event.

3. All CVF clubs must register and  pay a sanctioned fee for each Guided Walk (GW) event.
Guided Walks registered for the Canadian Volkssport Federation and IVV awards stamp program cost   your   club $30 plus $10 for insurance for a total of $40.
The Year Round Events  or YRE's are more costly, Registration fee is $100 plus a $10 fee again for insurance.

At the present time the Canadian Volkssport Federation has authorized the national and local clubs, that they may charge a fee of $2.00 to help recover the cost of the sanctioned walk event, therefore our goal should be 20 or more walkers at each Guided Walk event.
The Year Round Events (YRE's) are not only for visitors, these have been developed for club members as well. YRE's are a good way to get exercise, walk with friends, relatives and to accumulate event and distances for the IVV awards program. They also break up the monotony of walking the same area each day or week. Why not make a habit of  supporting your club by entering a YRE at least once or twice a month.
