REMINDERS FOR 2008

Reminders For 2008

  • Central Nova Volksport Club (Truro) will host the 5th Annual Atlantic Directors Meeting and Walks on 18-19-20 April, 2008.

The Atlantic Directors Meeting is open to All Atlantic Club Presidents and the Trails Coordinator and or a Rep from each volkssport club in Atlantic Canada.

The Central Nova Club will also provide Guided Walks on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and these walk events are open to all volkssporters and guests. In addition all participants are encouraged to attend dinner at a local restaurant after the meeting on Saturday 19 April.

There will be a six day POST CONVENTION BUS TOUR sponsored by the Valley Trekkers Volkssport Club. Contact Lynda Kanne for further information as per the contact info above.
The theme for this trip is Lighthouse Tour and will be offered from May 27 - June 1, 2008.

The Atlantic Region's Guide to Year Rounds/Seasonal Events & Guided Walks 2008. (the blue book) is now available by contacting the club president or the Ways and Means committee.
  • FIRST WALK 2008:
The First Guided Walk of 2008 for The Island Hoppers will take place on Sunday, 09 March using our Year Round Event in Sydney.
Meeting Point or Start Point is the Cambridge Suites parking lot 380 Esplanade.
This years first walk event will be led by Doug and Kathy Grant.
  • YEAR ROUND EVENTS (YRE's)

Both walk events are now open for 2008 and can be walked by any individuals or groups when you have the inclination to do so. A great way to get back in shape after the holiday festivities, it is also a good way to support your club and to introduce a friend to volkssporting.

A Walking Experience:

  • CB Island Hoppers Vice President Elsie Buck attended a Nordic Walking course in Baddeck on 14 December 2007. Elsie is now qualified to teach Nordic Walking techniques to all those who are interested in this unique walking experience. Contact Elsie for more information about Nordic Walking.
