BBQ AND WALKING TOUR IN WASHABUCK(T)

Maurena and Don MacKenzie invited the Cape Breton Island Hoppers out to Washabuck for a BBQ and a walking tour of the surrounding area.

A great BBQ with great "Chef Don" who did not let a little rain spoil the day.

A little wine and wonderful food and good friends helped to make a rainy day bright and cozy!

Maurena organized and kept the food line going, making sure everyone had enough burgers and hotdogs and plenty of wonderful deserts.

Hot drinks and wine were shared amongst the crowd.

Thank you Don and Maurena for the wonderful hospitality you have shown throughout your time with the CBIH. Much appreciated.

See our photo Gallery for more of the scenic views of Washabuck and note the old and proper spelling is Washabuckt as seen on a monument. http://cbislandtrailphotos.blogspot.ca/

After a great walk - Shirley helps prepare the refreshments!

The Start and Finish Point is Ingonish Beach -
 Beach Road Ingonish

Note also that the Englishtown Ferry located off Hwy 105 Exit 12 is a slightly shorter route/driving time to Ingonish, however the trip across the ferry, one-way is $7.00 ($3.50 with a Coupon, a book of coupons cost $35.00) with a possible wait time during the weekend, especially on the return trip.
