CBIH is pleased to host this years Annual Walk Marathon and shorter distances events.
PARTICIPANTS OF ALL ABILITES AND AGES ARE WELCOMED TO JOIN THE CBIH FOR A DAY OF WALKING.
COME WALK FOR FUN, FITNESS AND FRIENDSHIP!
The Start Point
Visitors from mainland Nova Scotia, after crossing the Canso Causeway at Port Hastings turn left (north) towards Port Hood and Troy on Hwy 19 for approximate 5Ks to "Downtown Troy" and continue for another 1.4 Ks to the Start Point parking lot.
Participants coming from CBRM area on Hwy 105 will turn right (north) at the intersection of 105 and the Canso Causeway roundabout.
CBIH signs will be posted on route. "WALK EVENT >_"

NOTE: VARIOUS REGISTRATION AND WALK TIMES:
Registration: 8:00 AM until 09:00 AM For The 42K Marathon Walkers
The marathon walk event will continue north along the Trans Canada/ Ceilidh Trail towards Port Hood.
Registration: 09:00 AM until 10:00 AM For The 20 & 30K Participants
Walk Times For 42/ 30/ 20 Ks: Register then Start Walking.
The Trail Distances will be posted along the Route.
The Afternoon Walk Event for those not wanting to do the longer distances:
Registration For The Guided Walk Events Begin At 1:30 PM
GW: 5/ 10/ 15 K's will Start Walking At 2:00 PM
TR:
Dinner is 7:00 PM at the Hall in Judique about 22 K from Troy, PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER FOR THE DINNER BY FILLING OUT THE FORM PROVIDED ON THE SPECIAL BROCHURE THAT HAS BEEN PUBLISHED AND AVAILABLE AT ALL CBIH WALK EVENTS.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION:
Neither the sponsors of the event nor the Cape Breton Island Hoppers Volkssport Club can be held responsible for any lost or stolen items, accidents or injuries at any time. All participants must sign a 'Waiver of Liability' form before starting the Event/Walk.
Anyone may participate in any event. Children 12 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult. Participants are asked to obey all traffic signs, and where there is no sidewalk, to walk on the left facing traffic.
Pets must be on a leash.
