You are invited to attend an Open House on CBRM Active Transportation this Monday, April 21 between 4:00 and 9:00 p.m. or Tuesday, April 22, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the Community Room, CBRM Civic Centre, Sydney. The public is invited to attend the Open House at any time during the sessions, and review the AT Plan.
Active Transportation is about walking, cycling, wheeling, in-line skating, skateboarding, rowing or any other form of human-powered transportation. In the fall of 2007 the Cape Breton Regional Municipality’s Active Transportation Committee started work on a plan to help improve conditions for active transportation within its communities. During November and December the Committee carried out an extensive public consultation process including information sessions, focus groups and an on-line survey.
When complete, the Active Transportation Plan will help to improve the health of the citizens of CBRM by developing opportunities to connect this “community of communities” through walking and cycling in a manner that will create social, economic and environmental benefits.
